Where did the change reading for repeating fives come from?

In angel-number writing, repeating fives mean change, and the message barely shifts with length. Walmsley's 2010 list gives the single 5 "personal freedom" and "major life changes, life lessons learned through experience"; 55 says "it is time to break free from old restraints and constraints"; 555 says "major life changes are in store for you"; and 5555 says "your life is about to go through some major changes, with new freedoms and living your inner-truths".

Virtue's 1999 list, the older of the two, is narrower. It has an entry for 555 and none for 5, 55 or 5555, and it adds that the change "should not be viewed as being 'positive' or 'negative'". The idea that each extra five brings a larger or better change is a later extension: Walmsley's wording grows stronger with length ("in a very big way" for 555) without giving any reason a longer run should mean more.

Numerology.com's description of the digit supplies the rest of the popular meaning. It defines 5 by curiosity and "the need for a variety of exciting experiences", and lists a reluctance to commit and trouble following through as its weaknesses. The single 5 also carries older Greek names, such as "marriage" for the union of 2 and 3, that the change reading leaves out.

Why do 55, 555 and 5555 land on different roots instead of a bigger change?

Read through their roots, the lengths describe different kinds of change rather than different sizes of one.
