Virtue's 222 entry is the source of the claim. Gabriele Oettingen and Doris Mayer (2002) asked four groups, job-hunting graduates, students with a crush, students before an exam and hip-replacement patients, how they thought about the outcome they hoped for, then measured effort and results weeks or months later, up to two years. Those who judged the outcome likely did better. Those who spent their thinking on pleasant images of it, which the study calls positive fantasies, tried less hard and did worse.

It is also the only time on a 12-hour clock whose four digits match, which makes it easy to notice.

Numerology reads 1111 as two master 11s, which Decoz keeps whole for their intuition, with the four digits reducing to 4, the digit of structure. On a manifestation question that puts the weight on whether daily life can carry the wish: the hours, money and commitments it would need. The difference between 111 and 1111 is mainly one of scale, one start against the arrangement of a whole week around it.

Attention explains why 11:11 feels frequent once a person has heard of the custom.
