Why does 666 overshadow the other sixes, and is it bad?

Revelation 13:18 calls 666 the number of the beast and "the number for a person," and asks readers to calculate it; the most common scholarly answer is Nero Caesar spelled in Hebrew letters. The verse is about three sixes only. No biblical text gives 66 or 6666 a comparable meaning, so the fear that follows 666 does not pass to the rest of the family, and numerology reads 666 itself as a question about care rather than a curse.

Chinese usage runs the other way. Six (liù) sounds like the Mandarin word for smooth, so the idiom 六六大顺 (liù liù dà shùn) treats two sixes together as a wish for good luck, and 666 is online praise for a skilful move.
